Fuck Yeah Narwhals! RSS

Here we celebrate the narwhal (Monodon monoceros), a medium-sized toothed whale that lives year-round in the Arctic. One of two species of whale in the Monodontidae family, along with the Beluga whale, the narwhal males are distinguished by a characteristic long, straight tusk extending from their upper jaw.

Also, they are awesome.

icanhazhotdog: i am horrible at figuring out what to ask for whenever gift times roll around so my mom keeps on hassling me to tell her what i want for christmas.  for the past half hour though, i’ve been looking at pictures of narwhals and i realized that the only thing i really want is a narwhal tusk (magic!).  i don’t actually want to think about the tusk hunting scene and what’s involved in the process leading up to owning one, and i don’t know exactly what i’d do if i did have one, but now that i’ve got tusks on my brain i’ll never figure out what to ask for.  MY LIFE IS SO HARD.
